I worked part time on this farmhouse remodel and several smaller projects on the property for most of 2020. Numerous other contractors had worked on the property in the last few years and the quality of their work varied widely. The worst by far were the electricians. Some of their work was so bad I remembered to take photos to send to friends such as the box down below with the ground wires that do not even travel into the box. There were several instances of electrical boxes pressure fit into place, held with a hope, a prayer, and some bubble gum. The windows were framed with 2x8s in a 2x4 wall such that the 2x8 joist was fully exposed on the interior and exterior sides of the wall. All told, I replaced 160 sq ft of rotten soffits, all 10 cedar corbels, the framing around 7 windows, installed 500 sq ft of staggered Hardie shingles, and painted the entire house.
